How's it going neighbors This is Ed here with etrailer.com, and we're taking a look at the Swagman XTC2 Tilt bike carrier on our 2023 Kia Sportage. So the XTC is a frame-mounted bike carrier, and this also would. I would consider it to be an entry-level carrier. This is going to basically attach at the frame and your wheels to secure your bike to the frame. If you have a nicer paint job or if you have a bike that carbon fiber, that downward force wouldn't be ideal or a step-through bike, that could also cause issues as far as how you can secure it. You may wanna look towards other options. more

This is gonna be a pretty entry level hitch-mounted bike rack, and this is going to be a platform-style bike rack, which means the bike sits on top of the rack. That is my preferred way to carry a bike just because it's generally a little bit more accommodating. And the Destination, although it is a more entry-level option, is one of my personal favorites. more

This is a very entry-level platform style bike rack, maybe it's just you and a friend who go out, but I'd definitely recommend it to the beginners. The Swagman's gonna be able to hold two bikes, 35 pounds each, so it won't be able to accommodate those heavier e-bikes. And it's gonna have only one tie-down point, and that's gonna be on its frame with this hook here. more

Rob: Everybody it's Rob here at etrailer.com. They we're to be taking a look at the Thule Helium 2 Bike Platform Style Rack, on our 2020 Kia Sportage. Now, I really like this rack mainly because it doesn't have any frame contact. So if you have a road bike with the carbon frame, like we have here, you definitely don't want a rack that does have any frame contact because it does put that extra stress on the frame. But it's still going to work out great for a lot of different styles of bikes as well. You can see that we're going to have two wheel hooks that's going to hold our bikes securely down into the trays that they're sitting on. more

Rob: Hi everybody, it's Rob here at etrailer.com. Today, we're going to be taking a look at the Hollywood Racks SE4 Bike Platform Style Rack on our 2020 Kia Sportage. Now, I really like the Hollywood Racks, mainly because of how versatile this rack is. It's going to allow us to carry up to four bikes, to and from the trail, and we don't have to worry about putting the bikes inside of our Sportage, or if you're like me, I don't really like the idea of a roof-mounted bike rack, just because I don't want to have to lift my bike that high and get that close to my car. So having a hitch-mounted bike rack is going to make it easier, and the fact that we can carry four is really nice.Now I know one of the big things that a lot of people wonder about with platform-style racks and all the other kinds of racks that are out there is, can you get access to the back hatch Because that's pretty important. We don't want to unload all of these bikes just to get something, and we can get in the back hatch. more

Thule Hitching Post Pro Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2018 Kia Sportage- Video
Colin: Hey everyone, I'm Colin here at etrailer. Today we have a 2018 Kia Sportage, and we're going to do a test fit of the Thule Hitching Post Pro 4 Bike Rack. Now this is a hanging style bike rack that allows you to transport up to four bikes to and from your destination. It's going to grip your bike at three different points. We're going to have two really thick rubber straps securing the top tube, the rubber straps are going to make sure that it doesn't harm or scratch the finish of your bike. We come down to the third point of contact, it's going to be our anti-sway cradle with that same thick rubber strap securing it into the cradle, that's going to help prevent a lot of unnecessary movement. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 Kia Sportage, we're going to be doing a test fit on the Yakima RidgeBack Hanging Style 2 Bike Rack. That's part number Y02457.I've already got it loaded up just to give you a good idea what it looks like and how it's going to hold our bikes. It actually holds our bikes with three straps, they're called ZipStrips. We've got two ZipStrips for our top tube and then one for our seat post tube.The one for our seat post tube is going to prevent sway in our bike, as well as bike to bike contact, bike to vehicle contact, and bike to bike rack contact. An interesting way how they work is they are a molded design. It's going to make them really easy to use compared to other straps. more

Speaker 1: Today, on our 2017 Kia Sportage, we're gonna be doing a test fit on the Thule T2 Pro XT Platform Style Two Bike Rack. It's available in either an inch and a quarter, or two inch version depending on what receiver you have, and that's in either black or silver. There is a four bike version available, but it's only available for your two inch by two inch receiver.Now, I've already got it loaded up on my Sportage with the bike loaded up on the bike rack just to give you a good idea of what it looks like and how it's gonna hold our bikes. Right away, you'll notice that it holds our bikes with zero frame contact. We've got a wheel hook going over our front wheel putting down pressure into the front wheel cradle.Now, this bike rack is a premium bike rack. It includes an integrated cable lock, which then goes through our frame and locks back into itself so no one can remove our bike. more

Today on our 2015 Kia Sportage, we're going to be test fitting the Thule T2 Pro bike rack, part number TH9034. We already have a bike installed on the rack. Let's go ahead and take a closer look, and show off some of the features. Now the first and most important feature about this bike rack, is the fact that it can tilt away from the vehicle with the bike still attached. You just come up to the front here, and there's this gray handle that you push or pull towards yourself to release it. It's a lot nicer than some other racks, which will have the switches up towards the front, and make it a little more awkward to lower it. more

Take our included bolt and we can finish tightening that down with a wrench. By tightening this down, it's going to help reduce any rattle or wobble within the hitch there. more

Thule Hitching Post Pro Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2015 Kia Sportage- Video
Today on our 2015 Kia Sportage, we'll be test fitting the Thule Hitching Post Pro Folding and Tilting 4 Bike Rack. That's part number TH934XTR. We could use this for either 1-1/4" or 2" hitches, so we'll go ahead and start by inserting our shank into our receiver. We're looking for our pin hole to be lined up. That looks about right. Take our anti-rattle bolt. more

SportRack Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2015 Kia Sportage- Video
Today on our 2015 Kia Sportage, we will be test fitting the Sportrack Tilting 3-Bike Rack. That's part number SR2403. This can be used for either 1 1/4" or 2" hitches. We can go ahead and start by inserting our shank into our receiver. Once our pinholes are lined up, we can go ahead and start by hand tightening that. Once we get that hand tightened, we can go ahead and use our wrench to tighten it down the rest of the way. more

Saris Bike Porter Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2015 Kia Sportage- Video
Today on our 2015 Kia Sportage, we'll be test fitting the Saris Bike Porter Tilting Four Bike Rack. That's part number SA404B. Now this is for 1 1/4 or 2 inch hitches. We can go and start by inserting our shank into our receiver. Look for our pin holes to be lined up and we'll take our anti rattle bolt and begin hand tightening that and we can take our wrench and tighten that the rest of the way down and by doing so it's going to remove any wobble or play down here at the base of the bike rack. Put our clip in and now we can take a couple of measurements. more

Swagman Titan Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2015 Kia Sportage- Video
Today on our 2015 Kia Sportage we'll be test fitting the Swagman Titan Tilting 4 Bike Rack. That's part number S63410. This can be used for either inch and a quarter or two inch hitches. What we'll do is we'll go ahead and start by inserting the shank into our receiver, and we're looking for our pinholes to line up. We can begin hand tightening that down, take our anti-rattle bolt that is and tighten that the rest of the way down with our wrench. By tightening this down it's going to remove any excess wobble or play that the bike rack may have right here at the base. more

Yakima StickUp 2 Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2013 Kia Sportage- Video
Today on our 2013 Kia Sportage, we'll be test fitting the Yakima Stickup two bike, hitch mounted bike rack, part number Y02420. To begin our test fit, we'll slide that shank of the bike rack into the receiver tube of the hitch, line up the pin hole, and thread in our anti-rattle bolt, tightening it with a wrench. Now, we'll go over a few clearance measurements. We have about 11 inches of ground clearance. The closest point of the bike to the rear of our Sportage is about an inch and a half. We've added about 11 inches to the overall length of our Kia Sportage. We pull the red know at the base of the bike rack and allow it unfold. With the bike rack in this position, we have full access to our rear hatch. We'll pull the red know to raise up our center mast and we'll raise up our frame hooks and under a wheel strap. We'll grab our bike and place it onto our bike rack, securing it first with the frame hook. more
